Android Auto in 2016 W212

He said there should be no reason to uninstall ACP/AA, because "the dealers don't care if you have it or not." I may be reading too much into this, but it seems his indirect response means that: 1) not many folks have tried to uninstall it, or that 2) uninstalling doesn't always work. In any event, I think these cars are now more than 4 years old, so the OEM warranty is either expired or will expire within a couple months, making the worry moot.
I understand your newly-acquired car has its OEM warranty until May. If I were you, I would have the dealer address all your initial delivery concerns (stated in other threads). Once you are confident these issues are fixed, you may feel more comfortable in using the dongle after May. I lived with my car for 18-months, and got to understand it enough, that I installed the AA/ACP dongle a couple months before the OEM warranty expired. There have been no problems since.
All said, I can't think of any reason to uninstall it myself.

Now that you have updated the firmware, get the software dongle from Vladimir. Insert the dongle, apply the coding and you're done. Updates to AA are applied to the app your phone, so there should be no reason to apply any further updates on the car. If someday they find an update to - say, enable Wireless AA, we'll cross that bridge when (and if) we get there.
Thanks for your response.
My pixel phone is on the list for supporting Wireless AA however I am not sure if Vladimir's OBD2 activation will support that feature on my 2016 W212, I guess that remains to be found.

Keep in mind that ACP/AA (1.0) was barely available on the market when the W212 2016 sedans were built (2015), and it had to be designed long before that.

)ODB connector on the way from Vladamir, fingers crossed I'll have AA up and running by next week!

He gave me a bunch of options for my car - up to about a total of $800 - including a tune apparently to bump it to 322hp instead of 302. I didn’t take him up on that for now.

You may have to be the guinea pig for this one.
Also where is the USB2 port? One of theones in the center console?
Finally, what is a landmark near the OBD2 port?
