Quick intro - new to me '11 E350 4Matic

Hey all! Just wanted to say hello.

Long time lurker and poster from the W204 forum, yesterday traded my '09 C300 for a '11 E350 4Matic. I can't even begin to say how much of a difference in feel these two cars are, honestly while my C300 was a step up versus the likes of a Jetta it holds absolutely nothing against the E class in ride quality and the C felt like a wooden wagon in comparison. I am still trying to get the hang of the column shift stalk (I do miss the gated console shifter) and the increase in size but other than that zero complaints.

Couple maintenance issues I will need to address. Engine and trans mounts are worn (clunk on a cold start and more vibration than typical) - I know this is a Mercedes thing as my C300 mounts were all almost entirely worn out at ~78k miles and I was starting to get the same M272 clunking at start in that car as well. Also the tires on it are rubbish and noisy, plenty of tread left but they are some crap Firestone tires that are extremely noisy. I honestly can't complain much as the car is otherwise in mint condition and was only $16.5k leaving plenty of reserve for repairs.

Anyways just wanted to say hello to the W212 world - looking forward to many years of motoring pleasure in my new E.

LOL - well figured out today it is a Sport. Did not realize the E had a different Sport vs Luxury version like the C and it takes a closer eye to see the difference between the two on the E.

That's my favorite year and model 😊
I think that many here like Michelin and Continental tires, mine are PureContacts. Good wear but I've found them to be slightly noisy.

Nice ride. I think it took me a few days to realize I had bought a luxury trim.

Yeah, get one online, about $34.50 from an MB dealer. Also looks like you got the faded wood. You didn't show a picture of the seat, but you might also have the ripped seat or it's coming soon.

They have free shipping if you're over $49, guess you should get the motor mounts or other little parts from them.

The insert was sitting in the back - had a big bottle of Fiji that didn't fit in the cup holder so I temporarily removed it.

Wood is definitely faded in certain areas but it even surprised me on day 3 when I finally noticed it, it really won't be a hangup for me unless the plastic clearcoat starts peeling. On the seats I am thinking the picture I attached just was not good, the seats are in excellent condition and don't appear to have any evident cracking or tearing (yet) but definitely I will definitely keep my eyes peeled for it.

Better Tires: Bridgestone Turanzas

Congrats on the BIG step up from C to E Class...
ive been driving E’s for 30 years & they are in their own special Class . . .
About tires for your E:
I swear by BRIDGESTONE TURANZAS.
My local Wheel Works Manager strongly recommends them, and I’m on my 2nd set on both of my E’s.
These tires are super quiet & excellent in all season driving.
