Extra Seat heater switches?
I have what appears to be an extra 3 position seat heater switch on each door pillar of my 2011 E350 Bluetec, next to the seat. I have a soft switch on the dash.. What are these for?
Anyone else have them?

Otherwise if that isn't it, post a picture so we know what you're talking about.

Agree. Must be the memory seat control pad, unless your seats get hot when you push those buttons. If that’s the case you got problems.

Sorry to be so flippart before. Just some Mercedes-Benz humor, so back on topic...
I think the others are on to something. By "three position switch...next to the seat" you probably refer to the distinct memory settings (Upper right, below). To memorize a seating position, situate the seat bottom, back, etc, where you want them, then press the "M" button followed by one of the three buttons, to store the settings at that button. Works great when you have people of different heights using the seats, especially the passenger seat...
If your are unfamiliar with the true nature of this feature standard on all MBs since the turn of the century, you probably should search the MB website for the pdf copy of the owner's manual. You might learn 200+ other neat things about the car.

Door pillar? You mean on the door next to the power seat controls? Those would be M 1 2 3 which is the memory for the seats. There's no seat heater switch on the door. On the dash, if you have two, one is heated seats and the other is cooled seats, cooled seats were an option.
Otherwise if that isn't it, post a picture so we know what you're talking about.

Nothing in the manuals. I've never seen anything like it.

I've been over the sticker and have not seen the option.. nor have I seen anything in the manuals..
Has anyone else seen this switch?
I'll try it sometime.. but I have to believe its covered somewhere.
The orientation of the seat, incidentally, is backwards.. which threw me off, as well. The seat is facing reverse of the front seat..

Thats not the same as my rear seating heating button. Aftermarket rear heating seats? Some kind of aftermarket mod?

Aftermarket option may be the most likely answer. That doesn't look like other buttons in the car. And the factory rear seat heater control is on the rear door panel near window control.

Yeah, I 100% agree with the probability that it's some kind of aftermarket mod. Mercedes wouldn't have inconsistent button styles. The hopefully the amount of time it takes to figure out what it does amounts to a really cool aftermarket mod

Also, can you move your seat forward and a perfect camera shot. It'll help to figure out what it does

The seat icon isn't the same as the front heated seats. 100% its something aftermarket. Also is it a rocker switch? Mercedes doesn't use rocker switches anymore.
