2011 E350
Highlight issue

I have a 2011 E350 that has an issue with he drivers side headlight. It will come on for about 30 seconds and then go off. Then I get an “adaptive high beam assist inoperative” message on the dash I replaced the. Bulb but still have the same issue. So I swapped the headlights right to left and issue stayed on drivers side. Then I swapped the ballasts side to side and the issue still stayed in the drivers side. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Others who have reported this issue have had to replace the headlight assembly or repair it due to a faulty stepper mechanism. Swapping the bulb won't change the behavior, nor would swapping the ballast. But you said that you swapped the headlight - do you mean you removed the headlight assemblies and swapped their positions?
