Styling Ques

I like to know the difference in the models by styling ques.

I do not know why in pictures ... some early W212 models have oval lights, some hockey stick & some straight cross.

Is this of some significance?

Mine has hockey sticks ... I have the P2 package.

Those lights were running changes on the non-AMG W212 in the USA... I don’t believe the lights signify anything different within the same model year because the entire non-AMG offering in the affected years used the same lights. I may not have my years quite right for the the first two lights, but I believe the order is correct.

* Round - 2009
* Hockey sticks - 2010-2011
* Straight - 2012-2016

I received my 2010 in late Nov. 2009 and it had the round lights for fog and DRL. I have the Premium 1 package. I believe if you got the Premium 2, you got the hockey sticks for DRL's. I believe the Prem 2 package also had HID lights as part of package which deleted fog lights as HID performed same function.

Not exactly: "2010 P1 - Round quad fog lights, halogen headlights" Two of the lights are fog and two are DRL's. Don't know about later years.

owned this car for almost 5 years and just realized I have LED turnsignals. Btw, luxury trim had straight LED's in 2011, not sure about 2010.

With corrections - it seems;

2010 P1 - Round - two of the lights are fog ... and two are DRL's, halogen headlights
2010 P2 - Hockey stick LED DRL's, HID headlights and LED turnsignals

2011 P1 - Hockey stick LED DRL's, halogen headlights
2011 P2 - Hockey stick LED DRL's, HID headlights and LED turnsignals

2012, 2013 P1 - Straight LED DRL's, halogen headlights
2012, 2013 P2 - Straight LED DRL's, HID headlights and LED turnsignals
