E500 4Matic rear differential

I have a 2010 mod. W212, E500 4Matic.
Lately I have heard a grinding noise from underneath on the car. I have checked everything that I suspected, but found no fault until I got to the differential. I drained the oil, and in the oil I found small metal chips. I suspect that they are from the bearings . In checked the EPC, but there is the differential only listed as a complete part. The parts in the differential are not shown.
Is there anyone who can help me with a schematic that shows the inside parts?
There is someone who sells a repair kit on Ebay with all the bearings and the oil seals, and that is much cheaper than a new differential, which costs US $ 7500, - or EUR6100, - here in Norway.
The car has only 120k km(75k miles) on the clock
Hope that someone can help me with a diagram.
Differential part # A204 350 10 14.
Thank you.
Jan

I'm subscribing but have nothing to offer other than $7,500 for a Diff is beyond belief. I hope you can find a proper economical solution to this. Perhaps ask MB for some assistance (grant) for a part that should not have failed this early.

I think it was earlier year (pre-2010) models that were prone to bearing failure. You can maybe look up some of that info, who knows what parts were used later on.
But regardless, the rear differential is nothing unique, a good driveline shop should be able to rebuild it. As home diy you could probably remove and install parts but setting up pinion depth and backlash may be better left to a specialist.

I see used ones on Ebay for $200-$600. Granted I do not see your specific part number up there at this time, but there is hope that a used Diff may be a possibility as well.

I think that buying a differential on Ebay for US$ 200-600 is a big chance to take. My have bad bearings after 75000 miles,
and I don't think that a seconhand would be in a better condition.
I think I will be better of buying new bearings.

That looks like a complete bearing and seal kit to me, but as you mentioned you need specs to set the pinion correctly. Talk to a local shop if you are lucky enough to have one around, they may have info. Other than that you need to keep looking for that data. Unfortunately it may be hard to find as I suspect most units are replaced, not repaired.
