Navigation updates on 2016 E350's
hi Guys,
Have any of you updated you Navi's yet to 2019? I called my SA and he said there isn't an update yet. I'm surprised there is not updates. I looked at the version and it said it's 2015. Seems to me the 3 year free map update will expire first if I wait.

Feel free to share a screenshot of this with your SA.
Your SA is not up to date on his map update offers (unless he was speaking about 2020 V12.0, which may indeed not be available yet)... As you know, if your car has been in service less than 3 years, your SA also may not know you are entitled to a free map update as part of the 3-year update program.

Just tell your SA that you don't want to wait for the 2020 version, and that the 2019 V11 will do. And that you've been told by other owners that this version works. Keep in mind that the dealers use the same update for all 2016 MB models, so it should be available at the dealership, no rocket science needed. Insist that the dealer run a check for this on your VIN and they will determine you are eligible.

For those who have to go to dealer I did see on EBAY and other websites peeps that sell:
Update disk
and they send you code and instructions on how to update nav maps
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-2016-M...UAAOSwmudaHy88
Now someone try them and tell the rest how it went..

My 2014 E coupe had never been updated during the original lease. I contacted Mercedes customer service and got through to someone in management and explained my situation. He was very considerate and promised to get back to me shortly. A day later I received an email from him authorizing a $100 service credit to cover the update. Had my dealer do the 2019 update, they contacted Mercedes for the authorization and my cost was zero.

Konigstiger,
the problem is, it hasn't been updated since 2015, and the SA is telling me I have nothing coming. Yet I see there is an Update from last Aug/Sept. Rather than Play "footsie" with my Stealership I just went ahead and ordered the update only and will do it myself. I did my ML 350 already, so mno big deal. the update build is NTG5S1 V 12 for the 2019 maps. My Warranty expires in 8 months.

For example, my 2016 E350 was first leased and placed "in service" on October 23, 2015. That date started the clock for the update program and the program does transfer to subsequent owners. My dealer had ZERO problem updating the maps for the first and only time on Sept 11, 2018 (within the three years where they could not refuse to do so.)
Advise you check when your car was first placed "in service." And even though that's the literal interpretation of the program, I've read here that dealers have installed updates gratis if not too far after the program expiration.

yeah the car first was in service later 2015 so that makes sense. I went ahead and bought the update so all is good. I'll do is myself only cost me $155 bucks for the update usb.+ key. My Dealer did $3500 worth of warranty work on the car for free so I don't feel slighted.
