2014 E350 Hard Shifting

Hi guys, I just bought a 2014 e350 and I'm loving it. One thing I noticed is a slight hard shifting when switching gears sometimes. It doesn't happen all the time but some. Mainly when I'm cruising and I step on the gas and it down shifts for a boost.

I had the car inspected at BENZ and the only thing they came back with that's wrong with the car is worn motor and transmission mounts. I want to know if anyone experienced anything like this, and if this is related to the motor/trans mounts or something else.

Thanks

Wink maintenance ABCs

I have the same car.. I can't exactly complain about the transmission besides 3rd and 4th shifts used to be less than stellar... Eventually it got automatically "adapted" by the computer - Just make sure your "adaptations" were NOT RESET in search for power...

Take it to the Doctor to:
1- Change any busted mounts for sure!
2- Service the synthetic oil and new filter as baseline going forward
3- Update the controller software to get latest fixes
4- (Reset adaptations once for diagnostics)

beyond that don't worry... these high maintenance princesses are designed for controlled failure

Thanks the jerk is occasionally happening and not all the time. I read about resetting the ECU/TCU but it seems like I can do this by myself on this car? is there a way to reset the adaptation myself?

Also, do you mean the engine oil? Which oil do you recommend.

Do plan on early fluid maintenance or as much as required. I believe these transmissions require a trained doctor with many special tools and a very specific oil grade for your MY.
Imagine... :
- the drain bolt is designed to be the fill hole,
- no deep stick or fill tube
- the pan bolts are one-time use only, hand torqued
- MB has made so many changes for oil grade, specs are confusing!

If you snooze on service, the transmission will quietly grind down all its bearings with clutch sludge ...

Hello, took it to the doctor today, they did the software update and reset the adaptation. So far it’s looking better.

Glad to read your dealer came through with the transmission software update/reset.

What's your current mileage ? (Not time for trainy oil service?)

What happened to the engine mounts that were reported shot?
