I hit some debris on the freeway and now need some help determining the part number for the lower grille on the pre-facelift w212. My car is a 2011 E350 with Sport Package.

I have seen two versions of the lower grill being sold and was hoping someone with more knowledge can help ensure I order the correct part.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I can't help regarding the correct part number

I've ordered from parts.com in the past, and been very pleased. I replaced the lower grille on my C300 with a part from them.

I'm not sure if this link works or not, https://www.parts.com/index.cfm?fuse...ENTER%2DGRILLE

A question....
I have the same problem but was told I couldn’t replace it by myself because the bumper cover has to be removed from the front of the car (including the radar sensors). I was also told that if I tried to replace it while it was on the car I would not only break the plastic grille but also would probably crack the bumper cover

Is is this true?

Read through disassembly attachment, check lower grille attachment points in post 3, this illustration, and here: https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...-885-12-53-MBZ bumper removal sheet also attached if this is your intent.

As E50_Sport asked can this lower grill replacement be done with bumper on the car or does the front bumper need to be removed? Anyone have first hand experience? Thanks.

I picked up one of these for my car this week actually. My car is in the shop to have the bumper and hood repainted so they had it off anyhow, so I imagine it's probably just easier to remove the bumper, and from konigstiger's attachments it sounds like that's the recommendation as well.

Just wanted to update this thread in case anyone has the same issue or question later. It is absolutely necessary to remove the front bumper to install or replace the front lower grille. There are multiple tabs and other brackets holding it in place that can only be accessible with the bumper cover off. With that said, I am enjoying the new grill and some other goodies I have installed this past week.
