Nice AMG.

Picture #3... What is the rectangle in the grille above the AMG Logo? (There's one on each corner of the grille - pic #7)

I thought that Distronic relied only on the electronics within the Tristar?

Actually it is the defusser for the K40 radar system. It deflects a cops laser that he shoots and he does not get a reading. There should be one in the back also. I have the system on my car also.

OK. glad to know it's not a factory item.
It's enough to make me want to drive no more than 5-7mph over any limit.

I normally do not drive more than 5 to 7 over the limit but when I am on vacation the wife sometimes drives and she has a lead foot so this is to help her not get a ticket. In 40 years the only place she got a ticket was in Bishopsville south Carolina. It was a local trooper and we knew where he was and she was going the limit only and he came across the medium and then turned on his radar we picked it up. He said she was going 10 over the limit and I asked to see it on his radar. He refused. Said for me to get back in car. What it was is that he saw the front plate and figured we would not be around to protest the ticket. We now take the front plate off when we go on vacation. All the states east of Illinois do not have a front plate so without the front plate they think we are one of the good old boys.

Beautiful pictures of the E class against the backdrop of Manhattan skyline. That looks like a fantastic ride. Although we would assume that you’re a “pothole hater”.
