What are the different Variants of the W212

Hi! Everyone, so we are planning to buy W212 E class prefacelift model. However I have not been able to find and/or understand the different variants of a single model. Like the new C class has different variants of a single model ( e.g avantgarde , AMG , Bussiness , etc). What are the different variants of the older W212 and what are the differences between them. Also what are the differences between models aswell (e.g between E200 and E250) other then just the Engine capacity.
Thanks

That’s a loaded question. First let us know where are you located geographically. The models and power trains offered vary by region and countries.
In the US the basic model ranges are E350, E550, E63 (AMG), and E220 (Diesel). There is a station wagon version also available. There is also a coupe / cabriolet version which seems to be based on C class chassis. I may not be fully correct on all aspects but this is my understanding. Hope it helps.

The number behind the class indicate engine size.
When AMG is high performance model, the cars can come with different trimm. Like avantgarde, limo, or sport. Not a big difference IMHO when you look for used car.

I think the prefacelift had only the Avantgarde and Luxury models with the different engine sizes that the number indicates. The number used to be the engine size, i.e. 350 was 3.5 liter and 550 was 5.5 liter volume.

I don’t remember if the change in this was done already before the facelift but the number does not indicate the engine volume anymore. Like E550 first ent to 4.7 liter turbo engine but it is still called E550.

Yes I know the numbers indicate the engine capacity, but again my question is that what is the difference between the for example AMG and Avantgarde and other variants. For example panoramic roof and internal lighting?

Thanks

You can download the sales brochures for each class of MB from the years you're interested in, and then study them to understand the differences in engines, interiors, exteriors and features, from this site:

Shouldn't I consider you lucky😂😂. Buying luxury imported cars is WAY too expensive in pakistan😔😔. Also I opened the brochures but they only included the top models, 350 and 500. What about the 200 and 250? Or like I asked nothing is different except the engine?

Thanks

U want to import W212 into Pakistan from other countries.......or you will buy locally in Pakistan ?
This forum is more of USA MB's owners , so small petrol engine MB don't exist ..... LOL.

Your question is best addressed to UK, India, Malaysia or Singapore car forum, same right hand drive and small cc petrol engine available and they use English in the forum.
Example here UK : https://forums.mbclub.co.uk/threads/...ricing.145919/
INDIA https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/

Option wise, its hard to say, but the richer the country is, the more options are available. Its logical, spending power from higher income per capita matters.
Where I come from, if from MB Indonesia, most models are locally assembled, so there is no such thing as "options".... you basically get what they offer, period.

If the country has 4 seasons, it has lots of heater related options which come handy if your area in Pakistan can get cold, albeit no snow.

Newer facelift model, 2013 and up does not use its numeric 250 in E250 petrol as 2.5 liter engine designation, just more powerful 2 liter engine equal to what was like a 2.5 liter power output on older model.
See the UK link I gave you.
W213 model is a greater "cheat". E350 is a 2 liter engine. 1.5 liter cheat from a 3.5 liter is 43% cheat ... LOL.

Also to note, some MB in some countries are using "AMG" naming way too unfairly. Its a fake kind of AMG, not true AMG.
Like my 2014 E400 4 doors , MB Indonesia call it E400 AMG in my country ...what a joke, just because its has AMG wanna-be options :
Option 660 AMG DOUBLE-SPOKE WHEELS 18" WITH MIXED TIRES
Option 772 AMG STYLING PACKAGE-FRONT SPOILER, SIDE SKIRT

Option 950 AMG SPORTS PACKAGE <<<< I have no clue what the hell this is...maybe my big drilled brakes ?
My front seats are the crappy my-azz-will-slide-away in fast corner., not sport seat with decent side grip.

Anyway....Have fun shopping........
