Hi all,
Been reading about the process of upgrading my radio on my 2010 E350 W212. Was looking at the option of display swap vs. just the car play box. Really like the Apple car play and would love to have it but also want to address my non-functioning back up camera. Along those lines I want to ask a few questions:
If I go with the box can I add a new aftermarket back up camera to this to replace my non functioning one?
When using my factory radio, I’ve noticed that when I turn the center console “joystick/wheel”nothing happens. Is this supposed to control the radio volume? If this is broken will this prevent me from utilizing either (display vs. box) of these options to upgrade to CarPlay?

Yes it is the command control and I’ve checked and it is supposed to control the volume when turned but mine is broken and I’ve read this is common issue. All other functions of the command control appear to be intact. Will this prevent me from installing either of the Car Play options?

Does it do that when you turn the wheel? Or when you move the knob left and right? My knob works when I move it left right or up down it’s just the turning of the wheel that doesn’t work.
I’m asking this because reading some of the posts you need to go into various menus and make certain selections and I’m wondering if you need the command control to be able to make all these various selections?

Help with unit update
I did not update my unit from the date i have installed...
I downloaded this updated file and put it on the USB
Can somebody explain what i have to choose for update:
I have the cable which i saw on video which is in teh folder.. curretly not installed on uit
Complet update or Carplay update..?
I have Iphone 15 Pro Max.

I done everthing as you said, i now everything is working better, audio and phone function is better qualility on my Mercedes W204....
