Warranty almost up... please help...
I have it coming from the passenger side cylinder closest to the front of the car and it only happens at idle. From what I've deduced, it's an oiling issue with one of the lifters there, but I don't know what the fix is short of an engine/head teardown. I came across numerous reports but no resolution. The good news is I also didn't see a report of any failures caused by this, though I have to assume it'll be an issue at some point.
Regardless, when you bring it to the dealer, ask to talk to a mechanic. Have him stand next to you, put your ear under the hood and say "that noise". A number of times I've brought my car into the shop for some noise or another and they come back and say they can't find it. Stand with them in front of the open hood, and bingo: "oh that noise". Most are not bad guys, they're probably just used to listening for far more egregious sounds.
Edit: this was a good resource on the sound from the videos:

According to a couple of sources I found on Google it's possible the knock is because of the carbon buildup, but I have to admit, I don't completely understand why. It has, however, inspired me to run Seafoam through a vacuum hose tomorrow. It worked well on the car I had before last so I'm fairly convinced that while it may not fix the issue, it'll be a good thing to do anyway. I'll report back on how it goes.
If you haven't already acted, I would see how confident they are that carbon buildup is the culprit. Did they run a borescope down the spark plug hole and observe excessive carbon buildup in that cylinder, or is it an assertion based on what they heard? If they laid their eyes on it, I'd say give the cleaning a try. Getting a second or third opinion at another dealer or indy would be an excellent idea, regardless.

First get the diagnosis in writing as "most likely" is not going to cut if they screw up.
I would have longer talk with SA or manager.
Not clear why you say the dealer is milking the warranty. They are totally doing him a favor if they replace the mounts under warranty.
