Maintenance timing question

Hey all,

I have a CPO 2016 E350 that has about 47k miles. I received the first two maintenance visits free with the CPO and luckily they just did the 50k service changing the plugs for free. My question is - based on timing does it make sense to buy a maintenance pack or are the next couple of services relatively basic? I'm comfortable doing the maintenance myself or taking it to 3rd party if its basic stuff. I typically drive less than 10k miles per year if that matters.

Thanks!

Engine and cabin filters are easy to replace yourself. Draining the oil is a PIA to get to the plug without a lift unless you suck it out (I'm not a fan of that method). The few indy shops I've been to want almost as much as the dealer for an oil change, you don't get the same quality safety inspection, if any, plus the "free" car wash. Depending on the service advisor they may or may not reset the "service required" but that too is an easy DIY. Most of the "service" required for the A and B intervals is just inspections that are mostly covered by the free oil change inspection.

Not sure why you did the plugs 12K ahead of the interval. Your next big event is the transmission service, but that is 2 years away for you. I would pass on the service pak

I might be wrong but they showed me the service interval chart and plugs are every 50k, not 60k. Either way getting it for free I was fine with it...

With 10k annual miles it will take you 3 years till 2 more services will be required, so calculate your timing carefully. But newer cars also give you 12 months between services, so you might be forced to change the oil prematurely due to time.
Most of the members here DIY most of the repairs, so expect lot of tips how to extract oil in 15 minutes, not how to burn your money at dealer.

Well, that is interesting news. The 60K spark plug interval has been a standard across all models for years now. I think that is overkill to shorten the interval and is just one more way to rob you of your Christmas money. IMO.

Yeah, it seems it changed in the newer models. They also call for the transmission service at 60k so maybe I should consider prepaying.

From the reports, dealers don't drain torque converters, so I would rather take the car to indy for service just becouse of that.
