Hi,

Were you able to change it? I have a problem and I think it might be related. I found oil in the intake tube.

You're lucky you don't have a 2014+ M275 Engine E Class... I just changed the PCV valve in mine and it took 3 hours to get to. Luckily one of my buddies has a shop and it didn't cost an arm an a leg to do, but Mercedes quoted me over $750 to do this job.

I have read so much about the catch can, I would like to install it, can you point me in the right direction?
Also, I spoke to a friend that works at MB he said to replace the hose while you're doing it. I am changing spark plugs and I think I might just do this job. Then he said make your you use some kind of solvent to clean those valves.

Hi this is my catch can . Basically you have to locate this pipe and cut it and put the hose in these location that goes to the inlet of the catch can to outlet and return to the engine
I had to replace a braded line hose on the suction side bec the hose was collapsing. To fix that replace it with Braded oil certified hose. Its 3/4 inner diameter on both sides At an 45 degree coupler

Nice, I like it and I now understand the concept. Thank you for that. I taking off the intake plenum tonight. There are only two hoses that is connected to the intake, 1 is from the centrifuge (this is the one that connects to the catch can) and the other is a small vacuum line coming from the front of the crankcase. The smaller line has a check valve cuz after I clean the tip, I tried blowing into it and it is a one way valve. Does the bigger hose has that check valve?

One thing that confuses me, I believe the OEM created a catch can. If you look under the elbow there is a container for oil to drip in.

The bigger hose doesn't have check valve. I had oil accumulated in that stock catch can. Now that i have an external one i dont have to remove to clean that stock one .Hope thats helps.

Dennis, I took everything off and it seems the PVC system is working well. I blew air in it and it created a vacuum and then released the air as soon as I stopped blowing air then the centrifuge (pvc) release the air back out.
I will be installing a baffled Catch can: https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-4-Barb-0-...1185b742aea3de

Also, check out the pics from the intake removal. https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...00k-miles.html

Hi Konigstiger, I am doing research for my PCV system and intake manifold replacement. If possible, could you share the same set of WIS on m272 3.5 engine? Thanks

w212 E220 cdi 2013 PCV Valve location

Hi I have a w212 E220 CDI and Im looking for information on the location of the PCV valve, the engine is using more oil lately and its not leaking anywhere so I suspect its the OCV valve, the car has 415,000 km and is running good but using more oil. Any help would be appreciated.

That stock catch pan would be ok if it sent oil back to the sump or there was a method of draining it without dismantling. Maybe a drain off valve / pipe could be fitted ?

That's for the M272 engine - this thread is about the M276 and the PCV is much more time consuming to replace, with HPFP removal.

So you know... :
Everybody's vacuumPp is pumpin' oil ie. don't be alarmed!

MB designs borderline chaos to be managed or repaired. Just need to find a way...
Turbo guys get their wastegate filled up.

I don't exactly know yet...
- how to prevent that ??
- oil is pumped by engine inside the pump for its lubrication and help dynamic seal.
- There's a overflow hole used as vent that must be the oil max level.

-- A lower hole may help dump oil ... MS! need to study relation to vacuum port.
-- Crankcase pressure counter acts the pump output... so low/moderate blow-by and good PCV are necessary.

Performance requirements are modest :
-- Pumping down vacuum is a slow process unlike pumping fuel.
-- Vacuum storage is helped by check valves and is seldom consumed.
-- Small intake flap actuators don't switch back and forth a lot, brake booster is sized well.
✌️

Konigstiger, I note the date on this post but it is extremely useful to me as I am about to replace the crankcase breather. Wow, the high pressure fuel pump needs to be removed! This will indeed be a pain in the neck. The reason I’m doing this work on my 2013 GLK350 with 110k miles is there is oil in the airbox and a little sucking when I remove the engine oil filler cap with the engine running.

Thank you for the help you provide on this forum. I would be lost without it.

Once you have renewed PCV kit, there will still be engine oil pooling in intake or disappear from crankcase on TT.

Replace at least fuel pump roller and seriously consider the HPFP pump itself. After 100kMi it's now overdue.
