Passneger seat/short leg room
Tried looking for this but figured if it's an easy or common problem I would have found it fairly easily but alas:
New to me '14 E350. The front passenger seat seems cramped as if the seat is not moving back as far as it should. Defiantly does not go back as far as the driver seat. I had not noticed until my wife was driving the car, as a 6'2" guy there was at best barely adequate leg room. Moved the seat forward and back a couple of times and gave a look to see if something was blocking or limiting the seat movement to the rear, nothing I could see. Is there a control limit that can be reset to the seat moving back or could something be out of adjustment in any way? Maybe this is just a feature but it would be nice if the passenger seat moved back as far as the drivers perch, or even just a couple more inches. It even makes getting in the car on the right side a little more difficult than it should. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Something amiss here........gotta be something blocking the seat. I have a 15 E350 and that pax seat travels pretty far back. I'd say you need to have someone check it out.

Both front seats should move back equally so check that your rear passenger seat back is all the way up and the sensor sees it in this position if you have the folding rear seats.
if seat back is all the way up in place you could have a sensor problem not seeing it in position.
On both of my cars I had the dealer change the coding so the limit was eliminated for the front passenger seat adjustment.

That seems a good bet... I've not yet had a chance to further look at it, but this makes the most logical sense as I do have the fold down rear seats. Not yet tried them so maybe they are simply not fully locked or something - I'll try and check that out tomorrow sometime if the weather allows. Thanks - I'll report back

Alas trying to fold and relock the rear seat backs did not have any affect, the passenger side seat is still stopping forward of the driver seat, I was able to get the set up high and look underneath to insure nothing was blocking on jamming the seat movement. In cycling the seat forward and back several time it did seem it just stopped and is no longer trying to move back further. I have also tried to check the owners manual for some type of reset etc - nothing has solved this one yet. I hate to take it to the dealer as this seems like something simple that should be solvable without a dealer visit. Anyone have any other thoughts?

Do a test, fold that seat back and see if the seat stops in the same exact position when you try to move it. If it does it would be heck of a coincidence to have something else wrong to make it stop in the same spot.

I have a 2014 E350 and the passenger seat goes as far back as the drivers seat. Something is wrong with yours.

I would run the passenger seat all the way FORWARD. Then, I would open the RR door and inspect the seat rails for any debris that can block rearward movement. Maybe use a magnet to pull any metal, followed by a can of compressed air to blow things out of the rails.

My '06 E55 Wagon did the same thing. When the rear seat was lowered, the front passenger seat moved forward and refused to go back. Some offered work-arounds, but I found a service bulletin that allows a mechanic to reprogram the system to eliminate this "feature," Bulletin LI91.10-P-052336 covers all 212 models. A PDF copy is attached.

also, when you fold the rear seat down, the front seat on the same side should automatically tilt/slide forward. If not, you probably have a rear seat switch issue, as Arrie suggested.

If you purchased from a dealer have them recode seat adjustment referencing MB bulletin LI91.10-P-052336 at no cost. If not, contact MBUSA 800-367-6372 to request goodwill recode: “This is a normal setting from the factory. Originally, this was put into place to ensure the rear head rest would not interfere with the Weight Sensing System in the passenger seat. Now with the new bladder Weight Sensing System, this function is no longer necessary and can be disabled safely.”

OK finally solved this little mystery - or the dealer did. When I was in for my free state inspection I asked them to check out the seat issue - and it turned out to be a Nickel ( US five-cent coin) traped down in the track. The tech said he was about to pull the sear out after trying for almost an hour to fish the coin of the track. He finally was able to get it though.. I made a little claim that I thought it was like that from delivery (true) almost a year earlier and they did give me a break on the cost. So that is now my $60.05 Nickle. I plan to drill a hole in it and carry it on my key ring. So look closely if you ever have a seat issue like this and watch that random change that might fall down and under a seat. It might only be a penny but it could end up costing you a lot more.

Haha... I did... but not thoroughly enough I guess, I got tired of being on the concrete on my knees. I fished around in both tracks with a small piece of round metal rod.... Just happy it's out at this point.
