recommend me a seat cover

It's either go buy a seat cover or pay $800 bucks for a new one - maybe more - installed.

There's a seam on the seating surface of my 2014 e350, that's split. I doubt a restich would hold? I could gorrilla snot it, but. . .

Amazon has a few thousand. I just don't have any context on those that may work?

Id bring it to a reputable leather/car seat repair place and get it redone. Personally, i wouldn’t buy a seat cover.

Is that MB-Tex? Either way Please pay a visit to the dealer and see what they can do first, before you take this matter into your hands and spend money out of your pockets?

x2 on staying original. Ebay is good source for used seats. Sellers usually sell them as whole unit, but that can be negotiated.
replacing the skin takes some skills, but with patience and flexible fingers it is doable.

The seat cover is about $250 from an MB online dealer. MB parts have a 2 year warranty. The general consensus is that if you have the seat stitched, it will just rip again as there isn't enough fabric for a lasting repair. Replacing the cushion will make it last longer. It was usually around $600 at the dealer, that was because they charged over $300 for the cover. If you just ask for labor or ask them to price match the online price, they might be a little more competitive and some people have gotten some goodwill discount on the repair so it was cheaper than taking it to an auto upholstery shop. Or you can just try buying the cover and see what an upholstery shop would charge to replace it.

Really hope they resolved this MB Tex cushion issue by the time the 2016's rolled out...

There is some mystery why some of those seats have weak threads.
I have 2 of 2014 models with 180k and 130k and seats are in perfect shape.
Could be bad batch that happen mid-way in the production.
But frankly if broken threads are only issue, having the skin out it is child play to run new nylon threads in them.
Satisfaction of DIY >>> priceless.

Thank you everybody! I have called about. Folks quoting me about $700 for a replacement seat cushion.

Yes, It's MB-tex. I'd like it just fine, but for this issue.

I'd visit 2-3 local upholstery experts before buying a replacement seat (with/without the same problem) from the dealer.

I would do the replacement seat cover from MB. At least that has a 2 year parts warranty. All work at the MB dealer would have a 1 year warranty. Maybe not so much at the upholstery shop. There are many threads where people got it restitched and it fell apart again shortly afterwards. A new seat cover would probably last several years longer than getting it restitched.
