2014 e350 command/infotainment system randomly resetting
Hello,
since the beginning of the day I’ve been experiencing my command unit restarting on its own and periodically freezing before the restart. It’s completely random I could be driving or stoped, Bluetooth playing or serious xm. I’ve already tried holding power button for ten seconds to reset with no luck. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you all.

What a coincidence. My comand unit started doing the same and other screwy things today. It sporadically and randomly turns itself off and reboots, or the screen freezes, or the dash buttons don't work, or the navigation shows me way off the road I'm on. Thankfully, I'm under a CPO extended warranty and am going to call the dealer tomorrow.

The same thing happened to me. I disconnected the cables from both batteries for 30 minutes. I turned off Bluetooth, emptied the CD drive, the SD card drive, and disconnected the Media Exchange Cable. I did a factory reset on the head unit (which wiped out all the music I had recorded to the hard drive from CDs). Nothing worked.
I have an appointment at the dealer tomorrow, so I'll probably be the idiot that pays a bunch of money just to find out it's some kind of global software upgrade that screwed everything up.

System Freezing
My 2012 C63 started doing it yesterday around noon.Same thing Freezes, shut down and reboots itself every 5 minutes or so and works fine for another 5 minutes and does it again. Called my local dealer. my service tech said he had 60 voicemails about it by 10:30 CST this morning. Hopefully this gets resolved quickly.

It can be on any screen. If you are on CD, it reboots and goes back to CD but starts on the first track. SD Card? Reboots and goes back to track 1. Music Register? Reboots and goes back to track 1. NAV with a route? It reboots, but after a minute of reorientation, it puts you back on route. I have never used the nav before but tried it today to see if it would fix this error.

Just got off the phone with customer care. They said that they are not aware of any cases bu notified me I have service bulletin for steering rack bolts which is a good way to get my car into the shop without being initially charged for anything. Have an apt with viti tomorrow they said it’s probably just a simple reset.

I even pulled the fuses for the COMAND and the radio (26,81, and 84 for my C63...Not sure if this is the same for other models) let them sit out. System reset because it deleted all of my settings. Got in the car and it still kept doing the same thing. Freeze and reboot roughly every 5 minutes.

UPDATE!!!!
Called a dealer this morning in Massachusetts because a member posted about them. Mercedes of Westwood. They just called me back and said that the problem is Sirius XM related. I was told that they submitted an updated yesterday and it did not download correctly causing the system to act incorrectly.
