Rear tail light housing cover

It's a just a tail light housing cover.
I' just wondering if I should buy this genuine MB or aftermarket. So long as it fits I don't think it makes a difference it's only a cosmetic part. The price difference is more than $150. what do you think?

It depends. . . I have occasionally gotten aftermarket tail light lenses (not for MB) that fit well, but once the lights were on, they were a slightly different color than stock. If this is not an issue for you, then you're probably fine with aftermarket.

Also, if you have LED lights, there could be electrical incompatibilities, so check with others who have used the same lights to be sure they work without any electronic issues.

Just reporting back on the install and the look. I got it from headlights depot for less than 60% of OEM price. Easy install. Cannot tell apart from OEM with light on or off and day or night. Waited a while to report back to see if there are any electrical issues. None to report.

Did LEDs go out in the original or did it get broken?

I just went with the aftermarket ones on ebay and I love them on mine. Took me about an hour to do and they were 100% plug in play.

Mrs. MellonC just backed out of the garage without looking and hit the pool man's truck very lightly. As a result the housing was cracked but all lights were functioning normal.

One of my taillight has gone bad, so I think I'll go with headlights depo based on your experience. Hopefully it matches perfectly with the OEM I have on the other side.

well, just the other day, I had Mrs. MellonC drive the car while following from behind in the middle of the night. If you were really really critical, I'd say, the headlight depot LEDs are just a smidge less bright. It's something i didn't notice before by testing in the garage. But we are talking a minor difference to an OCD like me.
