Intake manifold gasket replacement
My car is E550 2012 Engine M278 V8 4.6L, I have the misfire code P0301 which is misfire on cylinder #1, I replaced spark plug and ignition coin on that cylinder but the CEL still came back with the same code. Here is the symptom: When the car engine is cold (park overnight in the cold weather) the car shake a bit and the CEL is on. I used ODB2 scanner which showed the above code. I let the car idle for awhile the engine warm up. I turned off the car, clear the code and start the car again. Now, the car is not shake anymore and no more CEL. After read quite a bit from this forum and other, I also talked to a friend who is mechanic about the symptom, we came to conclusion that It is the Intake Manifold gasket wore out to cause the leak.
So my question is: Anyone in this forum has instruction "How-to replace the IM gasket on this particular car?" The book said 6.5 hours of labor?
Thank you in advance.

Anyway the Mercedes repair manual is the WIS so all repair procedures would be in there. You can get a knock off copy on eBay for about $9.50. Just search for Mercedes and WIS. It also comes with EPC which allows you to look up all the parts your car needs by the vin number.

I contact the seller to ask him/her a question. Is this a software or book? Can I download from his cloud? Will he give me instruction to download and install to my PC?
That kind of questions, I need it quickly. Things I worry is when I open the car up and missing some parts such as other gaskets or bolts/screws that I need to order etc. I don't want to stuck with open manifold and waiting a week/month for the part to come. We have to repair it anyway.
Thanks again,

I'm sure you could probably get the parts from a local Mercedes dealer. Usually online, the lowest you find is anywhere from 25-30% off the list price. For just the gaskets, I doubt you will need too much more but I haven't looked at the instructions so I don't really know. Basically when ordering parts for MB, you give them your vin number and they use EPC to see the exact parts needed for your car. EPC is also a little tricky to use too.
Here is what I got from the software:
We did open almost everything from fuel lines, ECU, electric wires over the manifold including 10 bolts on the intake manifold
but it seems to have some bolts/screw on the back so we could not lift the manifold up. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

I would like to update you guys about my car misfire problem. One of my friend who own the garage for more than 30 years tried to take the intake manifold out. He spent about 4 hours but couldn't.
So, he then put back on without change the intake manifold gaskets. A month or longer later, another mechanic (both of them don't work on MB at all) out of town come and successfully replace the
gaskets for me. This guy spent about 9 hours to take it out and replace them. The tricky for this 2012 E550 engine M278 is that you much take out two bolts closed to the firewall (very close to the windshield).
In order to do so, you have to take out the firewall out. So the instruction I posted earlier from WIS software is correct, We have to take the firewall out or no way to remove these two bolts. Of course you have
to take the gas lines and coolant lines out as instructed. While the intake manifold was out, We saw some oil in the intake manifold especially two cylinders closed to the windshield, so we decide change also the
Engine Crankcase Vent Valve (part # 278 010 04 31). At the same time, we also replace all ignition coils and spark plugs. Now the car drive like a new car and NO MORE MISFIRE.
So if have misfire coded: P0301, consider changing the intake manifold gaskets. It takes lots of time but worth-ed
