3.33%

Just received the fol email from my auto insurance company, USAA:"One result of the COVID-19 pandemic is fewer drivers on the road and fewer accident claims, so we're returning a portion of your premium to you. You will receive an auto policyholder dividend equal to 20% of two months of auto insurance premiums. There is no need to call or take any action. To keep it simple, the following amount will be credited to your next bill:

$87.84
So 2 months is One-Sixth of a year (16.66%) & 20% is another One-Fifth (20%) = 3.33% refunded

Wooo-Hooo!!! This, plus waitin' for our stimulus check (which we don't qualify for). What a week !!!

$89.84 making 3.33% makes $2638 annual premium. My condolences.
I am not getting discount (at least not yet) but my premium is 1/4 what you are paying.

I got a letter from Travelers offering a 15% reduction for the same reasons. I insure 8 cars, and 5 of them rarely get driven. Not even once a year for some. I have yet to hear a justification as to why it is ok to charge full price for all of the cars, when I can only drive one at a time.

Some policies sold through AARP are offering rebates. Mine was credited to my CC automatically.

Quite a surprise, really, as I expect less than nothing from a blood-sucking auto insurance company... the only legal ponzi scheme industry in the US.

Nevada allows turning the plates in and they will give you credit for registration balance. So my truck, who is used only as RV in summers is registered for 2 months each season.
Each state is different, but considering costs it is worth checking.
To get it back registered - Geico will do renewal over the net in just minutes, when Vegas DMV has 1 week wait time for appointment and than it is about 1/2 hr. (when they were open before Corona hit).
In CA appointments were over 2 weeks wait and then office line could add 2 hr.

I assume you have comprehensive only on those cars that are stored or unused. I hope.
Allstate has refunded me the same 2 months prorated amount, which is a half-hearted gesture.

Whining about almost $90? I got a credit for like $25. I also don't qualify for any of the "stimulus" crap either. No sympathy... but also not on here complaining about it.

I got a little under a couple hundred back, BUT my renewal is dripping my premium several hundreds and I'm working so I can continue to play with my toys. Life is good.

I think there is lot of crap about all those packages.
I bet lot of people cancel or lower the insurances, so there is less income, yet they offer discount. Go figure how much they had to make on you before to afford giving money back?
Than I hear NY major this morning and I really like his down to earth logic.
Why make airshow tributes over hospitals, where nurses are not getting any premium for the high risk involved those days.
Than why some states got stimulus packages higher than any annual taxes they ever paid to federal reserves?
Subsidize airlines, where 90 % of small business is down?
