Exhaust Tip Covers (Non-Facelift)

I know there was another thread about these floating around for the facelifted w212, but wondered if anyone has tried these for the non-facelift? I ordered them off ebay, but knowing shipping times right now they won't be here for a few weeks. Here's a quick bad ms paint job from the pic in the ebay posting (minus the yellowy color in the picture). I tried switching out the fake tips with some new tips thinking I had the measurements right, but they still didn't fit. I am going to try this for now before going the full E63 diffuser/quad tips route.

I've never tried them but I have read several threads about them falling off and rusting. If you're going to install them, I'd suggest to wax the daylights out of them and use a stronger adhesive.

If you opt to go with the E63 kit, I believe you're going to have to replace your entire rear bumper with the AMG/facelift bumper.

Will do. I just did the facelifted taillights and the "I'm bored during quarantine, so I am going to keep spending money on my car" is weighing pretty thin with the wife so I will need to wait a bit before the entire E63 backend conversion.

How did you get them to fit? did you get the filler panels, or just leave the gap between the light/bumper???

also, if you don't mind me asking, what did the rear SAM replacement and programming cost?

Plug and play my friend. Took me about an hour to swap them in.

Those look great.

Any issues with fitment or install?

No fitment issues. It came with some heavy duty silicone sealer and let it sit for 24 hours. Really diggin them!

Any chance you could send another link for the page you got those off of? It seems that the link is broken and I can’t find them by just browsing. They look very nice!

imho, this should be exactly how much exhaust sticks out the back.

I had an OEM E63 exhaust system installed on my 2011 E550 no problems at all and kept the original bumper. Only changed out the diffuser to fit the quad tip exhaust
