I agree with the study, in fact at certain situation/scenario, if we know that RED is surely a brake light , we can have at least 1 second faster response time.
1 second is 26.8 meter at 60 MPH and that is 5.x car length of a W212.
1 second is when one is paying proper attention to the surrounding.

your review was awesome!! Thanks for making it. Really shows how good the technology works.

Anyway, I think it's important to remember whether you're coding it yourself or using the module, you're not simply turning 628 on/off. You're actually coding the car as if it was in a right hand traffic European country.
The USA version is called ILS as well, and we are all are familiar with its functions. The European version is just ILS+.
The USA versions conform to SAE regulations and the European versions conform to ECE regulations.
It is interesting that The Euro gives you an option to turn it off in the cluster, but the things it turns off we're just different than what I assumed.

Happy to see the intrest in ILS+ coding for W/S212 facelifts.
See attached file for the necessary coding values in both the left and right headlamp control units.
HLI_FL212 and HLI_FR212*
9. VCD_Vehicle data set_LDC
Data (9) 212M ILS SAE
SAE = side marker lights, ECE = none
i’ll experiment with the other values in the txt file and see what else I can find out.

As another example, I also went into a dealership to ask if they could help me out with the coding for a 360 camera (before I bought my vediamo system), they said even if they could, Mercedes won't allow it simply because the car wasn't originally ordered with it.
Anyway, at least it technically makes these headlights legal that many of us have programmed.

For example to buy the parts to add 360 camera to my E63 from the dealer would be over 4,000. However I've priced them all out on eBay from dismantlers and looks like I could acquire them all for about 800 bucks or less. However I'm factoring that the used 360 camera module can be unmarried from its original car and married to my VIN. If that can't be done I'd have to buy the module from Mercedes which is about $900 by itself.
Anyway, My friend has an identical E63 with surround cam so I backed up all of his settings for the camera, if I were to acquire the parts I'd simply just code it exactly like his coded an in theory it should work.
For distronic, I'm sure you have to have all the correct modules installed, just run a plus uses two cameras in the windshield not one. Once you find out all the parts, try to find somebody that can give you all the necessary codigs from their car.
