Repair Manual W212

Closest I've found to free are the WIS/EPC Service Repair Manual downloads on eBay, ~$10. Eyes on this thread if there's a better way...

I've tried a couple of those 'manuals' on EBAY and I think they're miserable. Very slow to load, difficult to understand what to do, and ultimately not of much use. I hope there is a better source. For my Chevy truck and other cars I use ALLDATADIY.COM and there is tons of information about the vehicles, and cost is pretty reasonable at about $35 for 5 years of access. There are other similar services, such as Mitchel's at about the same cost, but neither of these cover Mercedes built in the last 10 years or so. .

WIS & EPC are the factory manuals. EPC is for finding part #'s. It is easy to use and works great. WIS I found difficult to use, but once you find what you're looking for the instructions are thorough. MB used to sell a consumer service manual CD for ~$50. which was a tad less than WIS but very easy to use. They stopped selling them about the same time Windows10 came out. Wish they would sell them again, the one for my C class was great.

Thanks for the comments. Much of my research in a manual starts with a DTC code from a check engine light, or just a scan of the various computers. From there, I want information on precisely what the code is about, the theory of operation of the part, under what conditions the code was set, how to test the part to determine what's wrong and whether it's the part itself or a circuit, maybe even a decision tree to guide analysis, etc. So, said in another way, it is a diagnostic look at the error code. I didn't think that was available in EPC/WIS. Perhaps you would explain further if this is available there. I have attached a sample of what might be published in ALLDATADIY relating to C1112.

I haven't really looked in WIS for that. But at a guess, maybe that's in DAS/Xentry which is another separate MB system. That system is typically in the $600+ range.
