Makes one think the car has been in an accident.

I have several friends who can't tell the difference between cars except color. One mistook a Versa for my W203 because they were both silver and a different one mistook a Chrysler 200 for my W204 because they were both black. So at least people I know would think this was an S560 cabriolet.
But yeah.. anyone who knows anything will know better.

Don't know about that. I don't research new models, but twice in last year was fooled by MB who looked like new E to me, only to notice S badge on the trunk.
New cars are getting smaller and smaller. That might be partly due to smaller engines giving more space for interior size, but they loose the class look IMHO.
At this point I am comparing to electric Lucid, who in size smaller than S gives rear passenger full recliners.
And in 2.5 seconds car, you need to lay down to take the acceleration

Compariong like year for like year...
2015 S-Class... Has that ugly, tucked-in rear sheetmetal with the equally ugly upswept taillights adopted by the E 2-years later...
2015 E-Class... retains the broad rear with horizontal taillights. The trunk width (at bottom) is 30-40% wider than on the S from the same year.
I agree, since 2017, the C-Class, E-Class and S-Class appear to be more similar than different, and not in a good way.

The real S 560 and this E550 cabriolet are close enough to the casual observer. Unfortunately the casual observer has no clue what an S 560 or an E550 cabriolet is.
E550 cabriolet
S560
E550 cabriolet
S560

Definitely, judging by the pics. The trunk gaps are wrong(shifted to the right some), the rear bumper is the wrong color and the front bumper gaps at the fenders are horrendous...I would not want to buy a Cabrio, especially if it's been wrecked and poorly repaired like this one...

thanks, I appreciate it, but it is a blessing and a curse. It is very helpful when looking for cars for myself or a relative/client, but it does **** my friends to no end when I get anywhere near their cars...
I have had to learn to be more "gentle" with my unsolicited diagnosis over the years...
