MB 2012 E350 unknown symbol in speedo instrument

I have a new , to me, 2012 E350 sport and I have noticed a cup and saucer with heat coming above it which indicates that it is a symbol for a hot drink in my speedometer instrument cluster. I have been through the operators manual several times and can't find anywhere what that symbol is suppose to tell me. Any ideas?

Any other messages about time to take a break? I think that's the icon when you've been driving for a long time without a break.

I believe that is the attention assist light. My 2015 tells me on the screen, not sure about yours.

You might find the answer in the driver assistance section of the manual.

When that icon is displayed the attention assist is ON. Pretty much it monitors your driving behavior through different sensors to see if you are falling asleep or not paying attention. If it detects such behavior, it will vibrate your steering wheel to let you know to take a break.

Mine has an icon that looks like a jar of Grey Poupon. What does that mean?

When we go on road trips together this goes off on my wife's driving a lot, really gets her mad! LOL! usually when we stop to switch drivers at a rest area and get back on the road in five minutes or so.

In all fairness the vibrating steering wheel in lane keep assist goes off on me a lot too, especially on corners.

You are probably not shutting the engine off. It goes through a learning period for about 15 minutes to learn your driving style. I've only had it go off once and that was at the end of a 6 hour trip. Didn't think I was that tired at the time but I guess it was good enough to pick up some differences. I think as you get tired, your driving gets sloppy and you end up making quick corrections. If you just switched drivers without shutting the car off, it probably didn't know there was a different driver and the driving pattern was completely different.

Yes, I agree, She weaves in the lane more than I do and I cut to the inside of corners, frequently riding the line on the inside of the curves. If neither of us need the facilities, we usually leave the car running as we switch sides.

I have a 2012 E350. During a five hour plus trip, Google Maps gave me instructions that were at odds with my sat-nav. Strayed towards the edge of the road when I took a quick glance at my iPhone. The steering wheel vibrated vigorously in conjunction with three high pitched beeps, and a drowsiness detected message popped up.
