cost of new passenger area carpeting

Still looking some E350 Wagons from 2016 model year..... Found a couple of nice ones but the darn carpeting in one car is so dirty to a point where I'd just rather replace the darn thing. Mind you, I'm not referring to floor mats but the actual carpet is dirty with oil stains. Plus it's beige interior.

How much do you think something like this costs?

Probably need a few more details like the vin number. Normally you look up parts with EPC and that requires the vin number. You could also get some floor mats to cover them up, there's some fancy ones out there. You can get a knock off copy of the EPC/WIS on eBay for around $8.50. The WIS is the factory repair manual.

You can also find them used on eBay for $150+. You could also try a carpet shampoo rental machine, some of them are pretty good or demand that the dealer clean it up before a sale, they're probably used to having someone available who can do it.

Brand new OEM seems to be $300+ depending on the color.

You can actually get carpet that also covers the tunnel. Around $130, I think there might be a few other companies that do it.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/6-Colors-Car-Floor-Mats-for-Benz-E-Class-Sedan-W212-2009-2015-Waterproof-Carpet/253238471599

But the liner for the rear appears to be $200+ used. Over $400+ OEM. When ordering OEM parts, always give them the VIN number so they know it's the right part.

That looks like a nice car, I think that one is real leather, MB-tex was much more common. Use a vin decoder like this to see what it really has:

have you attempted bringing the carpet for cleaning yet?

if yes then maybe get someone to redye the carpet? seems like it would be a more cost effective solution

This place is a joke.
For very dirty carpet the best option is to remove all the carpets, spray with a citrus based cleaner and pressure wash. Then, let dry in the hot sun for a couple days. This works well with MB's high quality pile.
These carpets, shown after cleaning, came from my 2008 ML350 with 178k miles. Apparently the previous owners were pigs in paradise. I was able to remove all the stains except for some red fruit punch, which was covered later by WeatherTech floor liners. I also cleaned the lower rear seats seen in the background.

Be aware that removing and installing the carpets is a significant job. You must remove the seats, B-pillar trim, inner door sill trim, and the entire center console. It is doable if you enjoy working with interior trim and don’t mind replacing a few pieces when you break the clips. But if you choose to have a dealer do it be prepared for a large number of hours on the bill. I would likely seek out a quote from a very good detailer first to see what they can do with the carpets in place unless you’re willing to do the labor yourself.

Agreed. Easily $1K job at the dealer if not more. I'll pass on the car. Also they won't CPO the car. Obviously, something going on. It did have everything I wanted... distronic, no pano roof, leather, parktronic, lighting pkg, keyless go.

Thanks for chiming in, guys...

I think that is wise. I think the carpets do tell you something about the previous owners as does the dealer's unwillingness to CPO it.

I once bought a Lincoln MKZ that should have been prime age, mileage, and history (lease return) for CPO but wasn't. As soon as I took delivery the transmission made weird noises and bad shifts. 3 weeks and $5,000 of factory warranty work to fix. I sold it within days of getting it back from the dealer.
