Did you get much removal of surface imperfections and fine scratches with just polish?
Not all of it,but I plan on keeping the car for along time and I didn't want to burn through too much of the clear coat.

My (Obsidian Black metallic) car very much needs some swirl and fine line removal from the previous owner. I haven’t decided how intensely to treat it yet though. Probably will need two stage polishing if I want most of the imperfections addressed.
If you have swirls or scratches in the clear coat, you can’t just polish them away. You need a rubbing compound (more aggressive abrasive than polish). On random orbital with a yellow pad, Meguiars Ultimate Compound is what I recommend. It will take out all the swirls (may need multiple passes), even 2000grit sanding marks.
Next you can polish it to a mirror like shine, Meguiars Ultimate Polish works well with an orange pad. Those products work very well,
especially for the price. Then topcoat of your choice.

So many good products out there. I've tried a variety of things but landed on once yearly fine claybar using NoRinse wash as lube, then NuFinish. If I get bored I may do wax at 6 months with either Collinite 845 or 3M clearcoat finish.
IMO the key to whatever wax is used is first using a claybar.
Looks wonderful!! Even deeper gloss with the wax than before.

Thanks and yes, sometimes once every two days, sometimes twice a day. Here in Hong Kong rains come almost everyday in summer.
As a retired guy and under the threat of COVID19, all l do at home is cleaning...
Btw l need to thank the previous owner, she kept the car so well that there is not a single dent or scratch! And with mileage of only 28xxxkm for a 8 years old car, that's amazingly low!
