Question of new tire/wheel fitment on E 350 4 matic 2011

I have a set of 20's that are width of 10.5 in the rear. I tried a set of tires of 285/30/20. Had a quarter inch of chrome lip showing. Installer said he wasnt sure if a 295/25/20 would rub width wise. Any idea?

Hope a 295/25/20 will cover that lip.

Seems the used car price of the W212 has now reached down to the dub wheels, rubber band tires, and straight pipe fart can exhausts from all of the recent posts. I think it’s time for me to move on. Sorry, I have no response other than that for you.

A better picture to post would be the inside of the tire in relation to how close it is to the spring perch of the suspension. That should give you the answer.

Relevant response:

Looking at how ill-fitting your wheels are(ie: they are totally the wrong offset and stick out WAY too much) and based on the fitment of my 9.5" rear wheels and 285's, it looks like they probably would fit. That said, knowing the wheel offset would allow me to confirm. Do you know the wheels offset? Sedan or Coupe?

With a stock offset of 48ET you are super poked. Good luck

Inside lip of the wheel will be out, away from the strut, 0.18" compared to stock 17" wheel fitment, and 2.18" out past where the outside lip of the stock 17" wheel was.

Your wheels will be out 0.6" and 1.0" (inner/outer lips) past my wheels and I don't rub on the inside(but I do rub on the outside...) with 285's so the 295 should fit you car without rubbing on the inside. Now, the car fender lip rubbing on the outside/tread of the tire, I cannot, and will not, make any assessment on that fitment. Good luck!

Any more pics of the the set up? I'm wondering what they look like on the car; or is that just a test fit on one corner?

Mostly took pics of what the rear looked like. .25 inch of rim stickin out. Immediately pulled em so as not to cause damage. Ill post a pic or two of what it looks like with 255/30/20 on the front and 295/25/20 on back when my tires come in. Eta is sept 25th. I know my style isnt the typical mercedes fan style. BUT, staggered look on E 350 is nice. May have tried to deep of a stagger though, lol.

Wider tire is going to make things worse. You should first have a machine shop shave the backpad, if there's room to, or get different wheels with a higher offset.
