Rust on rear spoiler ???

Has anyone experienced rust on their rear spoiler, where the spoiler meets the trunk? I show this on BOTH sides. My W212 is from 2016.
Sorry for the large photos... I just imported them.

You sure its rust? I'm thinking more like adhesive from spoiler install...

There is nothing there to rust. The trunklid is (edit: verified) aluminum, under several coats of paint... but the spoiler is plastic.

Try some water and an old toothbrush...

2014 E550-sold 😩
Dirty adhesive. Someone must have used a caulking compound under the spoiler and it oozed out. The two-sided tape must have failed and that was the backyard mechanic fix.

Definitely not rust.

Fairly sure it won't come off with the use of a toothbrush!

Probably need to be cut away ( carefully )!

Good old fashion elbow force and it's gone... LOL.. I guess it was really stuck on dirt/crud that never got washed out. Thanks all!
