I just found a crack at the top edge of my left ILS headlight. After a rain storm, the right side headlight refused to respond to any command, plus it refused to ever turn off. the left side continued to work as i was driving, then i got a report the ILS system was inoperative. and it wouldn't illuminate at all. later the left runner light (the tube that zig zags in the housing lit up and that was all; I could turn that on and off with the dash switch, but was stuck with the right side never turning off under any condition. Finally had to pull the battery. I'll deal with that bad decision after i get headlights working. I pulled them out and didn't see the historic corroded connectors or LED panels.
first thing is how to completely dry out the housings. then i guess hook everything up and run a diagostic and probably a reprograming. any thoughts??? seemed getting codes was a bit premature.
The module at the bottom is toast once soaked. It gets uninterrupted 12V and switches GND to load according to LIN messages from F-SAM.
Have a looksy... show us circuit board tiny interspacing unprotected electronics
> Internal counter measures:
-- To prevent repeat drama, I propose to weatherize the circuit board with two coats of PCB silicone coating.
-- RTV seal around cover and connectors.
-- Heatsink compound
-- solderless rework
-- Partially seal "BS vents" inlet

Super thanks.... through all my tears.... well we'll see what we will see. sadly it was a bit of water. we were up in Iowa but live in Tijuana... where it basically never rains. The crack was so slight and along the top edge, i never saw it. ☹️ However the other headlight never seemed to have moisture in it. But throughout the day droplets gathered inside. can't figure that one yet. I'm hoping and error turned off that light and it's not DOA.

Big thanks !!!
you're welcome
These HELLA lights are sealed and carefully vented in ways that let in water onto unprotected electronics...
I have not yet reworked my HL though I've seen them accumulate ridiculous amount of condensation.
The cluster warning beeps led me to deal with voltage chaos from 10KMi.

could there be a consideration to swap in a full LED set that is not intelligent? I would guess that feature would have to be reprogrammed. AND way cheaper
