I think it looks great there were zero hiccups, just needed like 10+ rivets.. I purchased a 25 pack of rivets off of Amazon they the same style and look identical to the ones from Mercedes! It looks amazing. Congrats! Do you mind sharing how much did it end up costing you? Besides rivets were there any other way for price-cutting?
I currently have the mufflers deleted on my 2011 E550 and I’ll be putting in a set of magnaflows. I can’t speak on the m278 as it may be quite with your turbos, but my car drones heavily between 1k and 1400 rpm to the point where I’ve been avoiding being in that range. I was considering 2010-2011 e63 mufflers however I don’t feel that $800 is worth it. I’m planning on doing quad tips too, I’ll be buying a black amg style diffuser and just quad tips that’ll be welded onto the exhaust
Curious if you ended up going with Magnaflows and how it sounds now? I have the same setup as you and I get the same drone in that mid range even with the J pipe on them. It definitely increased when I did the res delete for the X pipe.
Here is the receipt /breakdown of all the parts. I was fortunate enough to benefit from an employee discount via a family member. Other than that the only way to cut cost would be to find the most expensive parts aka the tips on here or ebay.
