Pressure Bleeder

Hi, I have a 2010 e200 w212 with only 100K kms on the clock and have looked at may many you tube videos on pressure bleeding, they all make it sound so so so easy!, most recommend a pressure between 12 and 15 PSI. I have tried up to 20 psi but only get the smallest amount of fluid coming out of the bleed nipple for a second or two and then it stops, can anyone help please?

There's two ways to use a power bleeder, first is just to pressurize the master cylinder and second, filled with brake fluid so it pressurizes and fills the master at the same time. How are you using it? How much are you opening the bleeder? I would open it a 1/4 turn, then 1/2 turn and if still not much fluid coming out. I would press the brake pedal slowly (with bleeder pressurized) and see if fluid starts coming out. So press pedal slowly, almost to floor and then release slowly.

Then I'd try another caliper to see if it isolated to just the one or remove the bleeder and check for crud.

Hi, Thanks for the reply, I have put 1,5Ltrs dot 4 in the pressure tank, I opened the bleeder screw at least half a turn+ on the passenger rear wheel, and then on the drivers rear wheel with the same result, I saw a thread where the guy had a e350w212 and pressurized the tank to 29PSI but I an concerned this may burst something

I've never needed more than 15-20psi to flush fluid... are you sure there is not a valve on the pressure tank setup you might have closed off? If you're doing it yourself, grab a broom handle, rod, stick what have you so when you depress the brake pedal you can jam the pedal down against the seat or track. Then go and take a look if you have fluid and close off the bleeder.

I only like pumping the pedal either 2 person (pump/hold/release bleeder/closer bleeder/repeat) and/or having a hose on the bleeder submerged into brake fluid (in a catch can) to prevent sucking air back into system when releasing pedal with no helper to close of bleeder.

I just bled mine the other day, and pumped the power bleeder up to 20 PSI. It was slow, but it did not stop. I opened the bleeders about a half turn.

If you have no fluid flowing from the bleed screw, you're doing it wrong.

The Motive instructions are clear. From memory I thought the specified pressure is 2 bar, but don't quote me. Bleeding brakes with a Motive device and following the Mercedes WIS procedure is dead easy.

Absolutely agree. Used the motive pressure bleeder filled with a liter of fluid. Really easy

for us 'murkins, 2 bar is pretty darn close to 30 PSI.

Motive recommends 15psi. I done 25psi for fun too. Anyway at 15 psi it flows very well.
Maybe there is some rust or dirt at the bleeder valve nipple ? 1/2 turn may not be enough though... if dirt present.
Did the nipples still have their rubber protection boot on ?
