My new to me E350 wagon had one of the door cards chewed by the dog of the previous owner. I found a replacement black panel on eBay but the leather insert is grey. Can I swap them out with mine in black? Does anyone know if the leather inserts are indeed detachable as the trim is?

I just want to follow up and post my findings. The leather trim inserts are not easily interchangeable as they are riveted glued on. The armrest can be swapped out as it is attached by few screws but not the leather inserts. I will need to find the correct colour panel for my car.
MB usually uses a combination of plastic pins or screws to secure the pieces together. The plastic pins can either be melted over or secured with metal speed nuts.

hah, that dog wasn't a mcnabb border collie by the name of Seamus, was he? my son's dog destroyed seatbelts in a half dozen cars, even managed to get his nose through a dog-gate on a Volvo 850 wagon, and chewed through a back seat belt just because. got the drivers seatbelt on my son's vanagon westfalia, and several more.
the seatbelt part Nr you quoted is 212 860 0565.
I found a bunch of replacement seatbelts out of Europe that have part Nr 212 860 5985.
do you guys know if those are interchangeable and what is the difference?
A couple of hours today dedicated to the car, I replaced the chewed seatbelt (part nr A2128605985 is a perfect fit for the wagon) and the door card. Unfortunately the eBay seller shipped out the wrong one so I had a bit more work to do to make it fit. I drilled out the plastic rivets and replaced the leather inserts and the upper trim for the roller blind. 30min of work and got it done. I used a drill for the rivets and then glued them back with construction adhesive.
I wonder if your door panels are indeed really leather.
For example, my 2011 Estate E350 W212 has the vinyl MB/Tex stuff, which tore at the driver sear bottom stitch, costing $350 to replace.
It’s my first time with the substandard vinyl, as all my previous 5 MBZ had higher quality real leather
which aged well & was easy to maintain with
Mr. Leather cleaner/polish.
i hardly think my door panels are genuine leather.
That’s not gonna happen, I’m thinking…
