W212 DIY'er Scan Tool Must Have... info on generic to factory tools
He covers from generic to factory scan tools and makes a lot of good points. I really like his philosophy on not chasing codes... write them down first, then clear them and only go after actual faults. Every time I scan with DAS, Xentry or Launch there are codes... almost a given, doesn't mean there's an actual issue.
At the minimum, any W212 owner should be looking at something like an iCarsoft MBII or better.

When Xentry is something needed for coding and adaptation, the best deal for end users is Autel dongle for $49.
I had Sprinter failure couple months ago and the scanner made very nice troubleshooting page, with all crucial parameters displayed on single page and required parameters highlighted.
