Seat cover splitting again...part #s?

I know this has been discussed to death, but after over an hour of searching I can't seem to find what I need.

My passenger's seat bottom cover split a few years ago, after realizing the cover alone was $1800 I had it stitched back together at a local shop for $60. This was over 3 years ago, maybe more, so I'm happy with that.

Predictably, however, it's split again. I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me the part number so I could search around for it, I am hoping since it's been a few years and these cars are getting older, maybe prices have gone down or ebay will be helpful. I am either looking for just the cover, or a complete cover / bottom cushion assembly (if the assembly has its' own part number).
Details: 2014 E350 4Matic Sedan, base seats, black MBTex. Heated w/memory, not cooled, not massaging or active contour or any of that stuff.

As I recall, because of this the cover itself was replaced with an updated version with different stitching to prevent this. I'd be happy with part numbers for either the old or the new but obviously the new version would be preferable.

Thanks and again, sorry - I really did search, including Konigstiger's immense TSB thread, but I must have just been missing it somewhere.

Thank you, this is for the NON-multicontour seat, right? Thanks again!

That IS the part number for #100. Doesn't look like it came down that much on price. You could also try some junkyards like car-parts.com, but they may also eventually rip. I believe new MB parts come with a 2 year warranty.

I am finding just the cover listed under part number

212-910-79-13-9D88

however I'm having trouble finding a picture of what I actually get so I can verify it's exactly what I have. The cover would run me about $300 so it's definitely worth looking into.

Thanks,

Update on this, maybe it helps some guys in the same boat I was.

As mentioned above, for unfathomable reasons OEM seat covers are available for the driver's side but not for the passenger's side. You need to buy an entire cushion assembly for around $800. My W212 is black MB Tex, perforated center, with white stitching around the cushion. I searched high and low for used seats (I'd have bought a complete assembly for $300 if I could find one that matched).

Finally during my searching, I came across an eBay seller in Germany that makes and sells matching replacement passenger's covers for $188. For some reason it took me several weeks to find it, I think I had to avoid actually searching using the eBay vehicle-matching menus and just do a basic search. I bought one about three weeks ago and it just arrived today. I haven't installed it yet so I can't comment on fit, but it looks great and it is a match. I'm satisfied. Maybe this might help someone else save a few hundred bucks.

Yes, I could have had a local upholsterer do the same thing, but knowing how things like this go he'd have the car for a weeks or so.,

Link to the one I bought:

My passenger seat just split recently as well. '11 e350 wagon, Grey MB Tex. VIN#wddhh8hb2ba207881
My local indy shop told me the only fix on the passenger seat is a complete cover/cushion replacement due to the weight sensor.
Does this sound correct? If it is, it seems like a relatively easy replacement, as opposed to stretching and recovering an existing seat cushion.

Thoughts or comments would be appreciated including guidance teo the correct part number(s).

Thanks!

I haven't gotten around to replacing mine with the cover I got on eBay, but it's $200 for a cover vs. $800 for the cover/cushion, and when I did the driver's side it took me maybe half an hour.

Also, I had previously had the passenger's repaired so I know that's not true.

I'll gladly spend 30 minutes replacing another cover to save $600.

Not saying Darel’s approach will not work but Indy is correct MB only offers complete seat cushion for your VIN notice cover (120) is grayed out.

Konigstiger is right (as always). I tried finding a separate cover for YEARS. I finally found a guy (posted above) who makes them and sells them on eBay. I bought one and it LOOKS perfect but I haven't gotten around to installing it. However, I do know the cover is removable, I just have to assume MB sells it this way due to suppliers "convenience" or something. I've had mine off once to get that seam repaired, and now a couple years later that it's splitting again I bought a replacement cover. I was hoping to get time to work on it this weekend or next, I'll update when I can.

Let us know how it fits. I think there's another thread on here where people bought one on eBay for the driver's side and it was cheaper than the dealer, but then it didn't fit right so they ended up returning it and getting the Mercedes one. At least Mercedes parts gives you a 2 year warranty but I guess if it splits again, it will probably be more than 2 years.

Yeah but this is the ONLY way to get a passengers side cover. You can't get the Mercedes part and I'm not spending almost $1000 on a cushion I don't need. If it.doesnt fit, I'll make it fit. 😉

I think you're on the right track for the passenger side, I ordered one from a company in Houston, 160.00 plus shipping it looked great, but even with steam I couldn't get it on. Granted, I'm not a professional upholsterer. I sent it back with no issues and ordered the factory part, it went on easy and looked great, other than it was brand new so matched the back seats perfectly but wasn't as shiny as my drivers back and passenger seat, now with use, it's matching the front better, but it is noticeably newer at least for me in black.
six more months of jeans sliding across it should make it as shiny as the backrest, I'm retired so no more dress pants! Maybe I got a cover that was just sewn too tight? Or maybe I didn't use enough muscle? I don't know, but there was no way the aftermarket seat cover I got was going on. It was made well and actually matched the shiny worn seats better, someone also mentioned the stitching was not as tight as in stitches per inch, but the one I got was really close. Also I had no issues with the seat heater or weight sensor. The whole seat bottom comes out with four bolts and one wire connector, then two bolts for the storage compartment.

Also; The new cover from Benz is stitched way better than the old one was.

I SUSPECT but don't know this for certain, that some cover suppliers make the covers a tiny bit smaller than they were when new to account for the general shrinkage and breakdown of the foam over time. if they don't do this, then customers would complain about the new covers not fitting right and seem "baggy".

konigstiger Thanks for the information, I'll tackle this project myself with the correct parts and save the Indy shop labor.
My wagon on has 78k miles, Spending $800+/- is worth it because my plan is to get another 75k miles out of the car.
