Looking For Wagon Cargo Cover

Hi All,

Just picked up this 2016 E350 4Matic wagon, and I am having a hell of a time finding a retractable cargo cover. Does anyone have the part number, or know where to order one? Went to my local dealer today and they were not able to find one or the part number. Photo of the new dadmobile for attention.

Thanks! I just looked it up, and on https://mbparts.mbusa.com/ and it looks like it is $1,600 for a cargo cover. That seems insane.

Welcome to MB, $1600 is MSRP $1100-$1200 depending on color @ https://www.mercedespartscenter.com/

Surprised it didn't come it... maybe its an option. Every MB wagon I've bought used has had one. Then again, we don't find much use for it.

I found a cover in the UK for my '11 wagon on ebay. I had to open the search parameters to include Europe. The seller noted they would not ship international. After contacting them we worked out a deal. Total cost of shipping and the cover was under $500.00.
I am amazed at how many wagons on BAT no longer have the cover after a 2nd or 3rd owner.

speaking of that cover... on my 2016, there's brackets on the back of the 2/3rds seat that will hold the assembly, but then the seat back won't go up because the cover ends hit the places where its normally clipped below the C pillars? on our 1994 E320, the cover roller is attached to the back of that 2/3rds seat and thats where it stays, so when you fold the seats down, its entirely out of the way.

On our 2011, the cargo cover roller assembly is held via attachments to the tops of the wheelhouse arches/trunk lining. When you fold the 2nd row seats, the roller assembly stays in place and can be removed by releasing one side (button on top) and sliding the unit out.

Not like W124s, its not attached to the seats.

my 2016 W212 has these clips on the back of the 2/3rds left hand rear seat back...

which fit securely into these clips on the underside of the roller, if you take the roller off said wheelhouse holders.

but, if you install it on the seat back like that, you can't put the seat back upright, as the ends run into said wheelhouse holders. So I'm confused.

The clips on the seats are for when the seats are folded. You remove the roller off the wheel arches and slide it into the seat back, then you can run the roller net up to the grab bars. There's little circular receivers for the bar ends.

The cargo cover on my wagon is a monster heavy rectangular piece that is both the cargo cover and the net that connects to the roof. The unit can be mounted closer to the driver seats so when you put the rear seats down, the net goes up right behind the drivers. I'm not surprised it's that expensive. Good luck!

I was dealing with such cargo cover on W211 wagon, what seems to be the same design. The cover mechanism had centrifugal clutch, who would latch the net in different positions, so it is quite a maysterstichk
The folding rear seat will also activate movement of front seats, who can't be moved back lately.
The trick to disable it was using a screwdriver to close the latches on rear seats.

the cargo cover/net for our W124 wagon was much the same design, a vertical mesh net, and a horizontal PVC blind.... The centrifugal clutches are quite similar to the ones for seat belts.

The seat movement, or lack of rearward travel can be coded out. It’s a manual setting under the seat control module.

my 2016 seats move forward when I release the back seats, but they can then be moved back. it certainly seems like they move farther forward than is really necessary, but I suppose if the rear head rests were sticking up too high, that would be needed.
