hazard warning flasher malfunction e550

I was working on installing a Road Top android auto system and during the setup I tested everything and got the message of "hazard warning flasher malfunction" first time seeing this..
I removed the roadtop unit and I still have the error code now.. any idea on what causes this?

That could easily be a blown fuse or a harness problem (skinny wire, tiny connector). You need to test for voltage with your favorite DVM... lucky the Warnings circuit is live 24x7 without a need for ignition:ON.

What happened... were you trying to tap power from that circuit for your Android ?

How many Amps extra does that unit require 3.5A... ?? Compare that value with the fuse protecting your harness conductors.

?

I didn't cut into any wires since this set up was advertised as plug and play.

I removed all the connected wires from the command system(head unit) , added the road top harness, then reconnected the wires. The command system screen came on and everything powered up. That is when the error message popped up. The road top unit didn't recognize my phone through the Bluetooth OR wifi. I connected to the wifi but none of the functions worked.

I don't know if COMAND power is at all related to the Warnings circuit... but the later is the one I'd focuss on first.

Once you get back to square one, resume dealing with integrating Android accessory.
(I just got done integrating a Dash Cam power... nothing simple... test twice, solder once!)

Issue resolved.

I went back and noticed the wire to the comand unit, specifically the small white connection on the bottom right corner was disconnected during the reinstall.
Everything is buttoned up and back to stock. Still bummed the roadtop unit wouldn't recognize my phone through the wired or wireless connection.

Thanks for stating what the problem was with the flashers.
