HID not working and no malfunction msg.
My 2010 E350 front headlight passenger side HID was not working and the instrument cluster did not show any error or malfunction message.
What would be the cause ? Just the D1S bulb problem or the ballast ?

Bad HID ...
- Try swapping the HID bulb left to right to see if the problem follows or stays on passenger side.
- Check fuses in F-SAM or trace power through a wiring diagram.
- Take a quick look at HL connectors and harness for BBQ signs ie. oxidized contacts gone hot under load.
- Any obvious signs of water intrusions in HL ?

This morning I went to garage, started up the engine and turned on the headlight, the passenger side HID was back to normal again.
The connectors are all fine in great condition and not a single sign of water intrusion in HL.
Will keep an eye on it these days.....Appreciate !!

I guess you just need a pair of bulbs. There are good deals all over the place.
