nicely done!

What does it take to retrofit the kick function with non-OEM components?
Your kick module is... not coded but works with trunk??

No programming needed
just connect the output signal from module to (open tailgate switch)

So you're saying this can be easily retrofitted to preface lift with keyless go?

Electric trunk opener. So you don’t need to “pair” any of the modules?

It make sense because all the car cares is that the fob is near you. The kick sensor emulates the open lever under the license plate. On a car without keyless go, the car would have to be unlocked?

So what did you buy to make all if this work? Maybe a quick run down of items needed and how to wire up for those of us not as smart as you

Great job, I love this feature as well . It's very useful and handy . Kudos to you as you are able to get it working using 3rd party parts in a Mercedes-Benz

Decodes into this URL :

That leads to this document :

aftermarket trunk-kick product sheet

My simplified-CN is little rusty, Google translate!
Sweet find at any rate.

yes the car must unlocked, safety reasons. When you buy a keyless entry just kick and the tailgate will open without take out the key ;-)

If you meant it for me, yes it unlocks when I pull the handle under the license plate.

If no need to touch the metal part (handle) and open only to push the button will work

The way it works from the factory (at least on my 2012) is if all the doors are locked, and you pull on the trunk handle above the license plate, the trunk opens, but the other doors remain closed.

It has 2 buttons on the trunk to close it, a trunk close button, and a lock (the whole car) and trunk close combo button.

keyless system read the key in your pocket. That means that if you install this cheap aftermarket kick sensor will work
Just make sure that you not need to touch the metal handle and open when you push the button

did you attach the signal wire to the trunk release switch outside of the car (above the license plate) or to the trunk close button inside of the car on the trunk lid (see pic)? I cannot get mine to work, but it’s a c43 amg coupe. No trunk open button outside of vehicle

yes you have to find the (open signal) and connect it to the module
