20inch wheels with airmatic? Any issues

I have 2011 E550 thinking about upgrading wheels. I’m kinda torn on the look plus still having the performance. Does anyone have any knowledge that the 20 in wheels won’t or do rub if in sport mode on the suspension. Obviously I still have the airmatic. Thanks guys

20 inch wheels /will/ give you an incredibly harsh ride on any but the smoothest pavement, and be very prone to pinch flats

to be fair, its not that the rims are 20", its that the tires have to be /30 profile to fit under these cars on a 20" wheel.

Yeah I definitely worry about the ride. I want to preserve the look of my car but want some customization to the car. I looked at the tire sizes and it’s riding on 20 and 30 series tires. That’s like walking bare footed. Looks like I’ll be keeping OEM 18. I do like the E63 rims but they are 19 in wheels .

Not to mention looking stupid, although cosmetic taste change with generations.

"guess I'm the only one"

I have 19s on my w204 with sport suspension and it wasn't much of a noticeable difference in ride quality from 17s. Tire choice is going to matter a lot.
Obviously its a smaller car than w212 so scale is a bit different. Never bent a rim or got a flat. In fact, changed them cause the 17s were bent. Our roads are crap.
Once again, even wheel brand and form is significant here.

Just purchased 20s for my CLS with airmatic so I can report back to you if its anything relevant, or just stop by the c218 section when I update.
In this case, I went up a profile, ex. the rear to match stock size is 295/25/20, I went up a size at 295/30/20, since there is room. Not sure if there would be for w212.
