W212 Dynamic Seat Retrofit
I've started retrofitting dynamic seats from an E63 onto my speedy E250 Diesel. I found a complete set of seats online. A few parts you will need to perform this.
1. Dynamic Seats preferably. Adding dynamic bladders to existing seats does not work well. The leather of a dynamic seat has an expandable area that needs to expand and contract when the seat is working.
2. Air pump. W212 models have two different pumps. A smaller pump for multicontour seats and a larger pump for dynamic seats.
3. Air Reservoir
4. Air line from rear left to seat
5. Wire harness to pump. Receives 4 wires. Power, Ground, and 2 for CAN Network
6. Programming
**if your car already has vented seats, it should be a direct swap. If you car does not have vented seats and you are adding that as well, you will need to replace the switch row under comand. More pics to follow as parts show up.
I will also be added rear heated seats which I will start in another thread.
Used dynamic seat pump enclosed in a plastic foam capsule for noise reduction.
Pressurized air tank mounted behind left trunk wall. This tank supplies the dynamic seat air on demand.

Is that air tank for both sides, or each side has one? I have a driver side dynamic seat, but not on the passenger ( E550's in Germany gets both, and I almost cancelled my order when I ordered the car in 2011), want to add a passenger side from an overseas car.

Cool project
While some don't care for them, I love the dynamic driver's seat on my E550.
I'm looking forward to following your progress.

Awesome! Keep us updated. I just replaced the broken main supply lines under my S550 seats. Both work great again. Pneumatics are fun!

Made a little progress tonight.
The factory hose from rear reservoir to seats. The hose came with both left and right hoses as a single unit
Power supply and can wires for dynamic pump. The harness starts at rear pump, travels along left side of vehicle. The can wire goes into the terminal block left of drivers foot. The power wire crosses over to passenger side under the seats in wire tray and heads back to rear of car on right side of vehicle to rear Sam module on right.
The pump mounted in its factory location.
Bottom of reservoir showing two black lines going to front seats and colored lines going to pump.

I finished running the hoses and power line for the pump.
This is a combination of wires from the right side of car. It includes power lines for the distronic plus system, dynamic seat pump

Connectivity to air pump is a success. I was able to clear all error codes and program vehicle for dynamic seats. Tested functioning of seats and everything works as it should.

Dang, it's coming together! I was going to do ventilated seats in my vehicle. I had a chance to buy a set of front seats for $1000, but I skipped out for some reason.

Thanks for sharing a detailed upgrade to your car,
Just a question I want to upgrade my seats to AMG spec ones with the controls on the side of the seat base, if I dont want the air system used are the seats a simply unbolt and bolt in deal or do they need special mounts or brackets?
Cheers!

W212 retrofit E63 seats
Just wondering if someone has the part numbers for the power harness and vacuum harness to retrofit the E63 seats. I have the seats the switch panel and the pump just need the harnesses.
