"We can make most Mercedes Key Remotes from 2004 -2014" ... so facelift W212's are probably off the table.
the nearest location (Bakersfield, CA) is a minimum 8 hour round trip for me, if you miss traffic at both ends. and that is one of only two shops west of the Rockies.

'14 and onwards W212s are FBS4 and AFAIK nobody other than the dealer can program new FBS4 keys.
Any shops that claim to program Mercedes keys will be able to do so for older models that use FBS3.
I'm stuck in the same boat, only have the one key and my dealer wants upwards of $1000 for a duplicate.

Holy crap, those prices are wild. I got a new one for around $350 a year or two ago. I did have to call a few dealerships; the one closest to me always wants double what the others are asking.

I believe regural fob retails about $200 and doesn't require programming, when keyless go is about $300 + 1 hr for programming. I paid $550 out the door for keyless go couple years ago.
There are aftermarket guys who can make the fobs, but usually they require ignition module removal for the job and their key will be clone of existing key.
When dealer does the programming, they can delete all lost keys from vehicle memory, what is safety feature and new key is programmed on separate rack.
