Exhaust help!
Hi! I recently purchased a 2014 E63s sedan in Canada, and I am trying to figure out what to do to the exhaust? I was originally thinking of getting a resonator delete replaced with straight pipes, but I want something more aggressive like how the W204 C63 sounds after a secondary cat delete. I’ve seen some videos with the W212 E63’s having their secondary cats removed, but i’m unsure how the car will sound. I would prefer to keep the muffler on to minimize cabin drone and rasp from the exhaust. All advice and replies will be greatly appreciated, please help me out!

Many people opt to go with catless downpipes for their M157, accompanied with a tune from a reputable brand like Renntech or Weistec. This will bring out the turbo spool, roar of the 5.5L V8, and with the tune get you to 760hp/852hp.

Ah, understood. Most people would then go for a resonator delete into an X or H pipe, or a secondary cat delete. Neither triggers a CEL, but awakens the beast

The key is to delete both sets of resonators, which is exactly what I did on my M278 E 550.
Removing just the resonator mid box is what a majority of people do. You'll get a great sound but not loud enough. Next is to remove the other set of resonators in front of the box (Pair of two, often mistaken for secondary cats even though they have no cat materials in them).
Boom! You'll love the sound. Keeping the stock mufflers is crucial to maintain that V8 rumble. Removing them for straight pipe creates a really high-pitched and unwanted sound IMO.
Take this advice how you want, I've never owned or been up close to an M157 E63. This was just my personal experience for my M278 V8 Biturbo which is a similar motor, I did extensive research on this topic before finally taking it to the exhaust shop. I wanted to do it right the first time. My next plan is to do C63 mufflers, if I can find a pair for a good price. Good luck and keep us posted with sound clips!

Both resonators deleted, sounds amazing

Thank you, I searched a long time for mine. Purchased 1 owner private party, garage kept, 37,000 miles. I've been smiling for every mile. I've thought about a Eurocharge tune but holding off for now. Huge bump in power compared to my M272 E350 so it's already plenty. And it smokes pretty much any car that's racing around as it is.

If you don't mind divulging, how much did you get it for? 37k miles is nuts!

I live in Miami, so I get smoked in my E350 by most stuff on the street haha. I had the opportunity to drive a 488, and now I'm sad because I realized just how slow my E350 is. I've been looking for more power since
