Mystery Beep-Help

My 2016 E350 Wagon has me perplexed. I've had it about a year and this has never occurred before. The car is parked in my garage as it is every day, there are no warning lights on the dash, the car is in park, there is no key in the car, one in my pocket one in cabinet. After coming home this morning it beeps every 30 seconds. I have double checked every door, started it, put in gear, and shut it down, beep continues. Thoughts or ideas? Thanks in advance!

Yes, I am replying to my own post. Drove to work today no beeping in the parking lot, stopped at Home Depot and the grocery store no beeping. Get home park in the garage it starts right back up every 30 seconds like clockwork.

I have attached a video clip of the sound if anyone has any ideas.

It only beeps in the garage? How about just outside of the garage? Makes me think you have a spare key nearby that has a button pressed down. But that doesn't sound like any beep that my wagon makes. I thought maybe it was the rear hatch opening/closing warning chime but mine is more of a ding than a beep.

Nope, only other key is in a cabinet a good hundred feet from the car in the house. The first beep starts almost immediately as I exit the vehicle then starts on the 30 second interval.

I’m getting ready to go move the car to the driveway and see if it only occurs in the garage. It is the same spot I have parked in since I own the vehicle, and there is nothing around it that has been moved or is different than it was the day before this started.

Sorry for wasting everyone’s time, I move the car to the end of the driveway to see if it would still do it there. It is now apparent that the beeping was my goddamn garage door opener!

Awesome! I was going to say it sounded like a smoke alarm with a dying battery, but I'm SURE he made sure it was his car making the sound.....

It’s funny, I thought of that to begin with and scoured the garage to make sure there wasn’t a smoke alarm in there. I’ve been in the house seven years and it really was completely unaware that my garage door opener had a battery back up! It was directly over the car and the way it was projecting the sound it certainly seemed like it was coming from the car.

Don't tell your neighbor about this or you'll start seeing mystery spots of oil beneath your car...
