2013 W212 Hybrid Eco Mode has not been working since winter
Sometime during the winter, my car's hybrid eco mode switched off and would not turn back on. Multiple forms suggest that it was simply because it was cold out, and here where I live it is a very cold during the winter. But now that it is warmer, the eco mode should be working again but it has not. There are absolutely no warning messages about any fault in the system, and the car works fine otherwise. If the car is warm, the Eco Mode will work for 2 to 3 seconds after starting before switching to the diesel motor full time until I turn the car off. That's the only clue my car gives here.
The batteries seem okay, at least when I took them to a tester, they passed. The auxiliary battery is 9 years old, and starter battery is 4-5 years old now judging from the date printed on them. I charged the batteries properly but it did not make any difference to the eco mode function.
I am not sure where to begin. My hybrid battery has been full for months now and I'm afraid this issue will start to wear the hybrid battery more quickly.
Thanks for any help.

No display message is great, now scan the whole car in search of any weird error (driver seatbelt sensor attached to seat module is part of ECO)
The legendary U-boat Diesel hybrid electric have come a long way. These subs ruled the seas 80 yrs ago... no crazy ECU!
