Tick feeling in steering wheel on high speed
And it looks like i got issue of my own which I couldn't find any solution for, and it drives me crazy.
i own a W212 2014 E300, and on high speed +120KM
(+75 mph) there is a tick feeling when i do micro
adjustment while driving, feels like empty space with
tick feeling, so if im doing a slight adjustment to the
right, i feel this tick "with very tiny empty space" then i
can turn it right, the same for adjusting to the left, so
on highways it's very annoying experience since i have
to do this micro adjustment every second, this issue
goes away on low speeds.
I hope someone with knowledge would help me diagnose this issue. So at least i would know what to tell the garage to check instead of making him wonder with no clues.
I know that my car has bad front bushings, and im not sure if this issue is related somehow to that. Tires are new, pressure, balance and alignment are ok.
The car is a bit too new to be having suspension control arm bushing issues unless there is some damage.
I would inspect your sway bar end links, and the sway bar bushings which are vulcanized to the actual bar for cracks. When the bushings start to let go you get a knocking sound, or squeaks over bumps. The sway bar links will just rattle around. The sway bar bushings are replaced with the entire sway bar assembly which is available at your dealer. I see a lot of MB's start to throw out their sway bar bushings around 100k and it gets misdiagnosed as a strut, engine mounts, or sway bar links.
The sway bar link bolts notoriously like to back themselves out too if you don't use loctite.
thanks Chris, at least i have a point that i can start working on, i will have the car inspected like you suggested and see if there are any issues with the parts you mentioned.
