W212 NTG 4.0 command questions
Hey guys , so my car has ntg 4.0 command system, but i have no audio option , and also when i try the hidden menu i get different one , is my unit very outdated? If so can i update it ? ( I don’t think if i can get the update from the dealer ship here in my country) , or can i replace the whole unit with a ngt 4.5 ?
before all this i was thinking to get the android touch screen but now that I don’t even have the audio option I don’t think it will work if so can i replace my unit with a ngt 4.5 then get the android touch screen

what do you mean, no audio option? you don't have a radio or CD player, and your COMAND won't bluetooth link to a phone to stream music off the phone? I'm not familiar wtih NTG 4.0 but I would hope it does all these things.

To upgrade the stock screen over to an Android display you'll need a working Comand host to drive the new peripheral.

It's not immediately clear what issue you're trying to solve.
To upgrade the stock screen over to an Android display you'll need a working Comand host to drive the new peripheral.

You have a working Comand 4.0 that offers no BT audio streaming...
I think your best upgrade path is through a compatible Android extension of your choice.
Cheap alternative #1: buy a $10 BT dongle connected on "AUX Input" if your 4.0 provides AUX Input!?
Cheap alternative #2: buy a unit that will rebroadcast your audio over to an FM Frequency in Stereo. I used to have one of these plugged in 12V-Cig. socket with 3.5Jack audio input... there may be BT Input model that will rebroadcast over to FM. Very convenient and simple.
I don't think coding a newer Comand unit is a viable option... unless your research on this topic shows otherwise given unlimited resources.
