2012 e350 3.5 V6 starts then dies
Hello,
I have a 2012 E350 3.5 with 102k miles that about two months ago began dying after start up. It does not happen all of the time, but especially when its been sitting in a cooler environment like my garage. I replaced the spark plugs last weekend thinking that might be the issue but outside from the car running much better was not it. Here is the thing though.... when I turn the key to the on position and prime the fuel and pump it does not start ruff. So, this tells me its a fuel problem.
I had the famous fuel filter gas leak about a year ago and had both in tank items replaced, right and left. Maybe these parts are faulty?
Any help here would be much appreciated....
Thanks!!

Fuel issue again ...
It seems the original fuel delivery issue may have never been addressed in the first place...
Have you looked at gas pressure when this happens?
Does your in-tank pump prime as validated by sound + pressure data ?
Have you tried to fill your tank all the way up to rule out bad saddle pump -Or read individual fuel level senders (courtesy @juanmor40 )
Any reasons for questioning the pressure sensor??

--> Now, what was wrong with the card when you had the fuel system last worked on...?
--> How was the car acting then?
--> You can read pressure data with a decent scanner.

I bought it with a leaking rear fuel filter. They ended up replacing the filter and sending unit together. Local Indy. I can't remember if the car was showing the same signs because I had it in for repair the very next day. 11 months ago and I have only put 7k miles on the car since. I am wondering if the parts may be failing that they installed? They claim MB only parts.

To fix your issue without replacing every fuel parts one after another (common business model on Main Street... ) - We need to think appropriately to deliver troubleshooting results. 😜
Look at your fuel pressure before, during and after cranking. Fom there we'll make further solid assumptions.
Cleaver defects got engineered in your car, we'll find them for FREE... How about that?

How many wires at your fuel pump connector ? The right SIDE of the tank .
This will tell us if the pump is the 2 wires common pump or already the newer 4 wires 3 phase pump.

Does your car have code P0087? That code is Mercedes Code for a low pressure fuel pump replacement. To be honest, I had the same issue you're having. (I think). I fixed it with a $100 LPFP off of Amazon with free express shipping and about an hour and a half of work

Hey guys,
So, the local Indy says that multiple codes have come up for low-voltage. They are replacing the battery and I will update as the days go on. That same Indy also replaced the jet pump and filter under the back seat about 12 months ago. Might as well have them do the aux battery in the dash that has gone as well.... Do you think a low voltage battery could cause this issue? Sound plausible?
THX!!

Was the new LPFP an easy install? Just undo hoses are reattach with the new pump? I've been in there when the filter went bad and know how to unfasten the housing.
Thanks...
Thanks...
