Collision assist but no option to enable

Collision assist but no option to enable
Hello my first post. On my 2014 e class 350 I have on the console the graphic which shows collision assist deactivated. But I see nowhere to activate it on the settings. It’s as if that option wasn’t installed on the car. Why would it show deactivated if there was no option to activate it. You’d think that graphic wouldn’t even be there.

Check your VIN data card online and see if you actually do have it listed as an option on your car.

disabled collision functions
That makes sense... it sounds fishy that the display shows an option without a way to enable it
Could be the front bumper radars have gone off-line after a cheap collision repair or a good rain soak.
Unsure if Multifunction Cameras are involved with collision. A fault scan could shine some light on this mystery.

Vin card data
258 COLLIS.WARN. SYS. W/ ACTIVE BRAKE INTERV. FCW STOP. This was On the vin card for my car. However when I go into settings it says disabled. Perhaps by default it says disabled and when you finally do have the circumstance it does the mitigation. There is just no setting to enable this.
